Did Biden really order our military to shoot down the Chinese balloon? Should we be asking some other questions in light of this dangerous incursion and violation of American air space? I hope so!
Among the reports regarding the Chinese balloon incident, this article from thehill.com gives a brief summary of the events surrounding the incident, but so many more questions come to mind. For those who are not completely familiar with what happened, open the link and read the story, then returned to my comments which should sound many alarms.
Biden Ordered US Military to Shoot Down Chinese Balloon ASAP
In a time where American security takes a back seat to global warming, greenhouse gas reduction, and a general weakening of our economy and world standing, the actions of the past week (perhaps better stated as the lack of actions of the past week) paint a frightening picture of the future of what used to be the greatest nation in the world, bar none!
Having been born almost 80 years ago, I have witnessed the rise and fall of American strength and security through several cycles. I was born in 1943 in the middle of WW-II and I remember how proud we were of the strength of our U.S. forces who held majority credit for defeat of Germany and Japan during that horrific war. I remember little about the Korean War with the exception of stories I have heard from fellow veterans who served there. That war occurred before I became a teenager and I don't know many preteens who actually paid attention to world conditions.
I graduated from high school in 1961 and became draft bait as the Vietnam War developed. I was fortunate enough to have served in the Army National Guard for six years and was lucky enough that we were not activated and sent to Vietnam. That was my luck, but many of my brothers served there, and we still serve as members of veteran organizations, that is, those who were lucky enough to return from the war and are still able to serve. I have lost many along the way, especially those who succumbed to the aftereffects of Agent Orange, and many of my comrades are still suffering the effects of this ‘gift’ from our own government.
Most of my recollections of the Vietnam War are negative, but those feelings are reserved for the situation that was created by greedy politicians who had little regard for the lives of all of those who perished in Nam. I hold those who served during that period of time in very high esteem- they served, and they did their duty to a nation that did not appreciate them. They hated the war, yet they were willing to do their duty with honor.
Since then, we have seen several more wars in the ensuing 50 years, further proof that mankind still has not learned tolerance or understanding. We are now witnessing a conflict in Ukraine that, barring some kind of sensible action on the part of the Russians, will take us into another World War and possibly the annihilation of human life as we know it. We know that Vladimir Putin is a madman, but we pray that his madness has limitations and that he will wake up before he pushes the wrong button.
We see the People's Republic of China poised along the China Sea and pushing the limits of aggression against Taiwan and other free Chinese. We see the same posturing by the despotic leadership of North Korea against our South Korean allies. Will we be drawn into another war as we were 70 years ago? The questions are all rhetorical-none of us have a crystal ball or clairvoyance to be able to see the future.
Two years ago, at the end of Donald Trump's presidency, our nation was thriving economically, we had the lowest unemployment in history, we had no supply chain problems, and our day-to-day living costs were reasonable. We had energy independence and a secure border. Illegal immigration and border crossings were minimal, and we had almost completed construction of a border wall. We were perfectly willing to allow immigration, but we wanted to vet those who were coming in.
On January 20, 2020, all hell broke loose has Joe Biden moved into the Oval Office. I will not offer my opinions as to whether there was a rigged election, but there is tremendous evidence of irregularities which must have had an influence on the election outcome. That will be up to history and the statisticians to decide, but I do not anticipate any great revelations or changes in our electoral system until we have strong leadership on the right. and we are able to take back both houses of Congress and the executive branch. This divided house will not stand under present conditions. We, the American patriot voters, must become active and they engaged if we are to see a return to sensibility in government.
We see a federal government which follows in the footsteps of weak leaders who dilute our American sovereignty and weaken our borders. They declare climate change to be a greater threat than a Communist takeover. They allow, even encourage, illegal immigrants (I prefer to call them invaders) across our southern border in droves and ship them throughout the country where they place a burden on local economies and a further burden on the American taxpayer who, in the end, is responsible for paying their way. I can only repeat the fact that a country without a border is no longer a country! Note that I haven’t said a single word about the drug smugglers who are responsible for so many deaths in our country from Fentanyl and other poisons.
Realistically, one cannot be hopeful in light of all this that we will make it through to the next election in 2024 without being involved in another war, with being able to avoid a collapse of our electrical grid, or any kind of success at avoiding new terrorist attacks. The progressive Democrats who are now in power in our government have diluted our military with woke policies and lack of budgetary support and have rendered us unprepared to deal with any national emergency. They have drained our strategic oil reserve to artificially reduce the cost of fuel but have jeopardized our fuel security should we get involved in war. While falsely claiming that our economy is doing well, they have strapped us with ever increasing fuel costs for heating in our homes and running our vehicles. Out of ignorance, they claim that we need to go all-electric while totally ignoring the fact that our infrastructure cannot support an all-electric system.
In the past week we have seen the Chinese launch, not one, but two balloons across the Pacific Ocean and into American airspace carrying what is most likely equipment to spy on our military installations and defense systems. One cannot tell me that our NORAD system was unaware that the balloons were approaching long before they entered our territorial airspace. The time to down those balloons was when they were over the Pacific Ocean as they entered our airspace, or as soon as they we're over a barren portion of our North Country. Would it have been so bad to get the Canadians involved when the balloons passed over their airspace? So, we ended up with at least one balloon that traversed our entire country until it was shot down over the Atlantic Ocean off the Carolinas, allowing what was most likely a surveillance package to do its work unimpeded. This final situation should be all the information you need to get you to start waving a red flag. It needs to be a call to action. It needs to be the force that galvanizes our purpose and brings all patriotic Americans to their feet.
Complacency is our enemy now as always. If we sit back and do nothing, the end will come before we know it. Get out your pens and pencils, get on your emails, write messages to your elected officials that we are not pleased, and we need them to stand with us. Call your elected officials - from your local villages all the way to D.C. - and let them know what they need to do to restore our faith in them and to preserve our great Republic! If you wait, Ronald Reagan's words will become the reality that “one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.” Act now, act today.
